Issue #7: The proposed development is completely at odds with the Buffalo Grove Strategic Plan

The 2024 Buffalo Grove Strategic Plan outlines five goals for the future of the village.

The proposal submitted by M/I Homes is at odds with: Goal 1 (Fiscal responsibility + Providing outstanding and responsive services), Goal 2 (Enhanced, beautiful, safe, sustainable neighborhoods), and Goal 5 (More livable Buffalo Grove community).

Instead, the proposal will likely increase taxes for D102 residents, overcrowd the district’s schools, increase traffic, reduce the responsiveness of fire, police, and other services while reducing the livability in Old Farm Village, Westchester Estates, and Green Knolls subdivisions.

The Village must adhere to the principles and goals that it laid out in the strategic plan and only engage in projects that benefit the existing residents.
